We arrived at McKinney State Park on Sunday afternoon & had to wait in line to check in. It is on the southeast side of Austin & very popular with locals for day use.
We had another very nice, private site but it was water & electric only. Luckily we were across from the restrooms which made it very convenient for showers.
We hiked the Upper Falls
The Rock shelter & Old BaldykOne day Jeff hiked alone to the McKinney homestead & gristmillIt’s Austin so that means FOOD! Unfortunately there is so much traffic, the parking is limited & our truck is SO big, we were unable to get into the food truck parks. We were able to go to one of our favorite Phoenix happy hour spots ,
Z – Tejas for the catfish beignets & shrimp tostadas & they were as good as we remembered. When we walked out the valet said ,I know you, you have the big rig. Ha!
We also went to the original Chuy’sWe also went to an Austin favorite, The Hula Hut for a beautiful sunset dinner on Lake Austin I think I should call this blog “Bonnie & Jeff eat their way across America”
On Friday we moved to Bryan Tx which is next to College Station. You can definitely tell we are in Aggieland. We are staying at Hidden Creek RV Park which is very new & very nice with a lot of amenities. I bet it is hopping on football weekends. They sell this “SHIT” in their camp storeMy spice allotment is full or I might have bought a few of these.
On to the next adventures!
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!!!
